From a bland master bath to a space full of energy, personality, and warmth!
Hello everyone! We’re excited to show you the process of this bathroom refresh into a Modern Master Bathroom Refresh! This is part of our Colorful Modern MCM project which has a total of 10 rooms!
After working on several rooms in the clients’ home, they reached out and said our bathroom doesn’t need a remodel but it’s boring, could you help us? Of course!
Keep on reading until the end for the before and after transformation!
Client Profile
Service: Full Service Design
This busy family has 4 children and we’ve been working together on their home since 2021! After working on several rooms in the clients’ home, they reached out and said, “our bathroom doesn’t need a remodel but it’s boring, could you help us?” Of course! 😁
At that point, we knew their style and preferences really well. They felt confident to let the CID team be creative with this master bathroom refresh and that they would love the modern and colorful results.
Design Process
The first step for our Full Service Design process is a “Deep Dive” meeting, where we present a few inspirational ideas to our clients based on the online questionnaire they filled out and/or inspiration photos and dive a little deeper into what we envision for the space.
Inspiration Board
The design ideas started by adding a light sage color to balance the cold marble-look tile throughout the space. We also wanted to add brass accents for warmth in the fixtures, mirrors, and lighting.
Space Plan & Drawings
At the start of the design development, we normally work on a floor plan to determine the best layout. In this case, the drawings were necessary to showcase the new materials and products in the space as well as functional fixtures like new hooks, towel rails, and vanity lights.
Design Concept
Now it is time to select the exact materials and products for the space. We knew we wanted a statement feature wall, but wanted a simpler and more cost-effective solution to tile. So, we found a beautiful geometric wallpaper from one of our favorite vendors, Livette’s Wallpaper, we knew we had a winner.
We then added brass fixtures to warm up the space, including additional elements to hang towels such as hooks, bars and a towel stand, for easy reach. Finally, we added some contrast with terracotta planters, deep orange towels, and a rug.
3D Drawings and Elevations
Our Favorite Part is seeing all the design elements in the 3D renders! YES! This step helps ensure our vision is spot on and that everything is scaled correctly in the space.
Project Management
After the design was approved, we started working on orders as well as working with our contractors to do the painting, wallpapering, plumbing, electrical, and handyman tasks throughout the space. We also worked with our countertop company for a new quartz countertop on the existing vanity for a more modern feel.
While this transformation looks simple, many steps went into the project management of this space. Working with our team can help ensure you have a smooth process when it comes to execution.
Progress Pictures
It’s great to see a space slowly transforming. As you can see, it really needed the brass elements to add warmth!
