Client Profile

Service: Full Service Design

About the Project: Multi-room project for busy entrepreneurs with two college-age kids and sweet pets.  They love to entertain and wanted to update their spaces to better reflect their personalities.

Design Process

The first step for our Full Service Design process is a “Deep Dive” meeting, where we present a few inspirational ideas to our clients based on the online questionnaire they filled out and/or inspiration photos and dive a little deeper into what we envision for the space. In this case, we had already done a couple of other spaces for this client, so we had a pretty good sense of their style! The next step is to begin putting together a floor plan.

3D Space Plan

We like to begin putting together the 3D building shell of the space, especially if we’ll be adding new paint colors or woodwork.  For this project, we immediately knew that we wanted to paint the entire lounge area a deep teal color, add a focal accent wall with board and batten, and completely transform the bar area. As for the game room, we brought in a new charcoal color to differentiate the spaces.

Design Concepts

Next, we start to work on our Design Concepts.  This is where we source the products for the space.  For the lounge area, we wanted it to be moody, cozy, yet colorful and sophisticated. With this design, we knew that a rich moody teal color had to be on the walls with rust orange and mustard yellow as the pops of colors. As well as adding gold accents to enhance the space making it feel more sophisticated and pop against the wall color.

For the game room, we wanted it to feel a bit more playful with custom signs around the room, a gallery wall with family photos, and a fun snack bar area! We also decided to add a different vibe here, so it felt like a Modern Industrial game room.

Final Design

The client had minor changes to the concept and then came the final renders of the space.

Contractor Implementation

After the design was approved, we started working on furniture orders as well as working with our contractors to do the painting and woodwork throughout the space.  This part of any design project is very important, as there are a lot of things that need to be troubleshooted at this point.  We also came up with a really creative solution for the bar area that took some collaboration with our contractor.

In-person Installation

After all the contractor was done and the products had arrived, we scheduled the Installation Day!  The client and our CID team met in early June for the installation along with two handymen. We needed all hands on deck for this installation because of how much we needed to do!
