Project Reveal: Modern Master Bedroom Makeover

We’re excited to show you the process of Master Bedroom Makeover! The design of this master bedroom thoroughly transformed this space into a beautiful bedroom sanctuary.

This is part of our Colorful Modern MCM project which has a total of 10 rooms! While the rest of the home was done in a colorful and modern aesthetic, when it came to the master bedroom design, we chose to go a bit more subtle, using a palette of black, white, grays, and a pop of coral.

Service: Full Service Design

This busy family has 4 children and we’ve been working together on their home since 2021! After several spaces were designed, we got to know their style and preferences really well.

The master bedroom and bathroom were some of the last spaces we tackled in their home. They’ve been waiting YEARS to upgrade to their own adult sanctuary with a luxurious king bed, we’re so happy we could help them achieve their dream!

Design Process

The first step for our Full Service Design process is a “Deep Dive” meeting, where we present a few inspirational ideas to our clients based on the online questionnaire they filled out and/or inspiration photos and dive a little deeper into what we envision for the space.

Inspiration Board

In this case, we started with a few different possible design directions for the master bedroom, from a feature board and batten wall to more colorful designs.

Space Plan & Drawings

At the start of the design development, we create the floor plan to determine the best layout for the space. In this case, we also designed a board and batten feature wall behind the bed.

Adding decorative wood elements always adds a unique touch to a space but can be tricky to work out the exact dimensions.

Design Concept

Time to pick out the exact products for the space! We started by picking a moody paint color for each concept feature wall. Then we decided on a color palette and overall aesthetic for each concept and then selected furniture, lighting, fabrics, and decor accordingly.

We love it when we get the opportunity to add fun and playful fabrics to a space, it makes such a nice impact and adds lots of interest.

3D Drawings and Elevations

Many clients’ favorite part is seeing all the design elements in the 3D renders! It helps them visualize their future dream space and helps us ensure the design vision is spot on and that everything is scaled correctly in the space.

Project Management

After the design was approved, we started working on product orders as well as working with our contractors to do the painting, wallpapering, woodworking, electrical, and handyman tasks throughout the space.

While this transformation looks simple, many steps went into the project management of this space. Working with our team can help ensure you have a smooth process when it comes to execution!
